You can sign in to SeatReaper with your Microsoft work or school account (Microsoft Entra ID) instead of a password. Personal Microsoft accounts are not accepted.
On the sign-in page choose Sign in with Microsoft and sign in as you normally do for Microsoft 365, including your company's own multi-factor rules. The first time, Microsoft asks you (or your Microsoft 365 admin) to let SeatReaper read your name and email address; it reads nothing else.
If you already have a SeatReaper login with the same email address, Microsoft sign-in is added to it: you keep your workspace, role and settings, and can still use your password unless your workspace requires Microsoft. New people can also Sign up with Microsoft; continuing accepts the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Require it for your whole team
An owner can turn on Settings > Security > Require Microsoft sign-in. Then:
- everyone on the team must sign in with their Microsoft work account. Anyone who signed in another way is asked to sign in with Microsoft before they can see anything,
- the rule is enforced by the database on every request, not only by the pages, exactly like the two-step rule,
- when someone leaves your company and their Microsoft 365 account is disabled, they can no longer get into SeatReaper either.
To keep you from locking yourself out, an owner can only turn it on while signed in with Microsoft. Turning it off emails every owner a security alert.
Two-step verification still applies
Microsoft sign-in replaces the password, not the authenticator app. If your workspace requires two-step verification, people verify with their authenticator after signing in with Microsoft.
