Connecting Webroot

SeatReaper reads the active endpoints in every site of your Webroot GSM console: hostname, last user, and when each was last seen. It never changes endpoints, policies or sites. Deactivated endpoints and sites are skipped, since they are not billed.

What you need

  • Unity API credentials: a client ID and client secret for the Webroot Unity API. If your console does not offer them, ask your Webroot representative or support for Unity API access.
  • A console sign-in: the email and password of a GSM console admin. The Unity API signs in as a person, so a dedicated admin used only by SeatReaper is best. It must not need a password change or an interactive prompt.
  • Your GSM keycode: the parent keycode of the GSM console.

Connect

An owner opens Settings > Integrations > Webroot, fills in the keycode, API client ID and secret, and the console email and password, and chooses Connect Webroot. SeatReaper signs in, lists your sites to check the keycode, saves everything encrypted, and runs the first sync. After that it syncs every day, and Sync now checks at any time.

How endpoints are linked to clients

Each site is linked to the client with the same name (ignoring capitals, punctuation and endings like Inc or LLC), or to the client an owner or tech picks under Webroot sites. A picked link is kept on every sync. An endpoint in a site that is not linked still links to a client when exactly one client has a device with the same name in N-central, Datto RMM or Cove, or in a NinjaOne organization linked to a client.

What SeatReaper does with it

  • Dead devices: an endpoint not seen for the device threshold is flagged, but only if every other tool it appears in also considers it dead. See What SeatReaper flags.
  • Offboarding: endpoints appear in the device list when you offboard someone, and one whose last user is the person is ticked for you. It is confirmed once it is deactivated or removed.
  • Prices: set your monthly cost per protected device in the price book.

Disconnect

An owner chooses Disconnect on the card. SeatReaper deletes the sites and endpoints it synced. Change the console password or revoke the API credentials to cut access completely.

In compliance reports

On Growth and Pro, Webroot is one of the EDR tools in the Device inventory and gaps report in the compliance evidence reports. A device another tool has seen recently but no EDR tool knows about is listed as missing EDR.
