A demo workspace shows SeatReaper the way it looks once every tool is connected, without any vendor account. A yellow banner at the top of every page says when you are in one.
What is in it
Harbor Point IT (demo) is a fictional MSP on the Pro plan with six fictional clients. Every name, domain (ending in .example), device and figure is invented.
| Client | Tools |
|---|---|
| Lakeshore Dental Group | Microsoft 365, Pax8, N-central, Huntress, Cove, Datto SaaS Protection, KnowBe4, Flowroute |
| Calder & Price Accounting | Microsoft 365, Partner Center, NinjaOne, CrowdStrike, Acronis, Duo |
| Northgate Veterinary | Microsoft 365, Pax8, Datto RMM, SentinelOne, Cove, KnowBe4, Flowroute |
| Summit Ridge Builders | Microsoft 365, Pax8, N-central, Sophos, Datto SaaS Protection, Flowroute |
| Bluewater Insurance Agency | Microsoft 365, Pax8, NinjaOne, Webroot, Cove |
| Oak & Iron Fitness | Google Workspace, NinjaOne, Huntress |
Each client has people who left with licenses and seats still billing, someone who has not signed in for months, licenses bought but never assigned, a dead workstation, a former manager whose seats outlived their account, and (for some) a phone line nobody uses. Some items are already approved, some were removed and confirmed (verified savings), and one phone line was kept on purpose. There are also gaps for the compliance evidence reports: admins without MFA, laptops with no EDR agent, backups that stopped, people not in training, and 90 days of history for the trend.
Prices are set as if from Pax8, except Microsoft 365 Copilot and Huntress, which are left empty so you can try Fill in list prices in the price book.
What works
Everything that reads SeatReaper's own data: the queue (approve, dismiss, offboard), client pages, reports and evidence packs, the compliance overview and trend, share links, scheduled reports, alerts, tickets, the audit log, branding and the price book.
What does not happen
- No syncing. The sample is never replaced: Sync now says it is a demo, and the daily sync skips the workspace.
- No vendor changes. Removing licenses from SeatReaper cannot be turned on, so nothing is ever sent to Microsoft, Pax8 or Partner Center.
- No real clients. The clients are fictional. Emails, alerts and tickets you set up go only to the addresses and ticket system you choose, so use your own address or a test ticket board.
Getting a demo workspace
SeatReaper staff load the sample into a new, empty workspace with scripts/seed-demo.ps1. Running it again resets the sample: your changes (approvals, notes, prices) go back to the start, while members, branding and the audit log stay. It refuses any workspace that already has clients or connections, so it can never overwrite real data.
