SeatReaper reads every Huntress agent in your organizations and when each one last called in. It never changes agents, organizations or incidents.
Generate an API key
- Sign in to Huntress as an account admin.
- Open the account menu and choose API Credentials, then generate a key.
- Copy the API key and the API secret. The secret is shown once.
Huntress API keys belong to the whole account, so SeatReaper sees every organization in it. SeatReaper only reads with the key.
Connect
An owner opens Settings > Integrations > Huntress, pastes the key and secret, and chooses Connect Huntress. SeatReaper reads one organization to check them, saves them encrypted, and runs the first sync. After that it syncs every day, and Sync now checks at any time.
How agents are linked to clients
- Each organization is linked to the client with the same name (ignoring capitals, punctuation and endings like Inc or LLC), or to the client an owner or tech picks under Huntress organizations. A picked link is kept on every sync.
- An agent in an organization that is not linked still links to a client when exactly one client has a device with the same name in N-central, Datto RMM or Cove, or in a NinjaOne organization linked to a client.
What SeatReaper does with it
- Dead devices: an agent that has not called in for the device threshold (60 days unless you change it) is flagged, but only if every other tool it appears in also considers it dead. One item lists every tool still billing for it. See What SeatReaper flags.
- Offboarding: Huntress agents appear in the device list when you offboard someone, and are confirmed once they leave Huntress.
- Prices: set your monthly cost per protected device in the price book.
SeatReaper reads Huntress agents only. Huntress products billed per user, such as identity protection or security awareness training, are not read yet.
Disconnect
An owner chooses Disconnect on the card. SeatReaper deletes the organizations and agents it synced. Delete the API key in Huntress to revoke access completely.
In compliance reports
On Growth and Pro, Huntress is one of the EDR tools in the Device inventory and gaps report in the compliance evidence reports. A device another tool has seen recently but no EDR tool knows about is listed as missing EDR.
